About Ms. Marshall:
This is my 13th year of teaching in the Beaverton School District. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. I am originally from Eugene, Oregon and graduated from Oregon State University in 2000. I moved to Portland in August of 2000 to attend graduate school at Pacific University. I absolutely love teaching and cannot imagine doing anything else with my life. I strive to make every day in our classroom exciting and new. I love everything the NW has to offer and enjoy many outdoor activities. I love to hike and run with my dog, Lincoln. I also enjoy riding my bike whenever possible. In fact, I have a goal to try a cyclocross race someday when I get enough nerve. I have 2 nephews whom I spend as much time with as possible. I am extremely close with my family and we do many things together. I also enjoy gardening and working in the yard. My tomatoes are always very prolific! I hope this website is a great resource for you. Please don't hesitate to contact me at any time if you have questions. I am looking forward to an exciting year learning with your child! About Mrs. Marineau: Welcome to third grade! This will by my thirteenth year teaching, all in the Beaverton School District. Though I have taught other grades, third grade is where my heart lies. The eagerness of eight-year-olds is contagious! I’ve lived in Oregon since 1985 after graduating from the University of Idaho as a fourth-generation Idaho Vandal. I later received my Masters degree from George Fox University. Following my children’s education process as they grew brought me to the profession of teaching. I love the connection made between children and books, the process of learning to read, and the spark that happens as new connections are made. My two children, Mike and Caitlin, are now grown and have moved far from home, but my husband and I cherish our visits with them, and adore the people they have become. The beach is my regular retreat. Being in nature refuels and energizes my spirit. I have a need to create—most frequently using fabric or fiber to sew or knit. I’m always on the lookout for another good book to share with my students, improve my practice, or with which to just relax. About Mrs. Nichols: I was born and raised in Beaverton. In fact, I was part of the first graduating class of Westview High School. I attended University of Oregon (Go Ducks!), got a job working with kids, and then went back to school for my Masters in Teaching at George Fox University. I happily accepted a job in Beaverton 11 years ago at Cedar Mill. I have always loved working with kids and feel like teaching is what I’m meant to do. I feel blessed to get to work with such a great community of kids and families. My husband, Eric, and I have two kids of our own. Addison just turned three and Ethan will be one in January. They keep us busy (as kids tend to do)! In my spare time I enjoy reading, biking, and eating chocolate. J I’m looking forward to working with your children. We are going to have a great year together! |
